I just cut the sleeve off the length I wanted then placed on doll inside out and placed pins in the fabric to mark the seem. I then sewed the seem, cut the extra fabric and it was finished.
My baby girl is now 6 and she has reminded me several times today that she is not a baby she is 6.
My family has switched from cable to netflix for many, many years. To be honest it’s been my little escape for some time now. We not only have netflix on smart devices we have but also our TV. I can escape into a great show from time to time. (more than I should really) and the kids can go to a room in the house and watch a show on the iPad.
Lately I have limited the amount of tv my kids are watching so we didn’t notice until today that Netflix has removed Backyardigans, Dora and Diego. Why would you do something so horrific to my kids? to me? My son came to me to load Backyardigans and I tried to search for it but it turned up nothing. So he then asked for Diego and that again turned up nothing. While my son sat in the floor kicking and screaming for his favorite shows I researched the internet only to find out they are gone for good. That did not go over well for my son.
Apparently Netflix has let their deal with Viacom expire this month, removing a lot of my children’s favorites. Netflix will also be losing hundreds of titles which will eventually become exclusive to Warner Archive Instant, that lets users stream films and TV shows from the 1920s through the 1990s for $10 a month.
Right like I’m going to pay more per month for this service. Nope my kids will just have to change what they like.

Today I needed to stop by the store and grab a few things for breakfast. I saw a wonderful spot near the door but when I got there I almost couldn’t fit in the parking spot because of this Tahoe parked really bad. I managed to get my car in without blocking the person in the right lane and staying in my lane.
Now for the Karma. I took the above picture because I was worried this person might scratch up my car trying to get into their car or when pulling out of the parking space. When I was leaving the store with my son. I saw a woman with her hands full of bags and a little boy putting up the worst fight with her. I told my son I was so proud of him for not acting like that in the store. The ladies son continued being bad by dropping to the ground in the middle of the parking lot causing the woman to drop most her bags to get him. I then watched as she juggled her bags and a screaming kid all the way to the badly parked Tahoe.
It’s the little things.
My kids brought me this little bird today. It’s wing looked hurt pretty bad. I remember as a kid trying to help wounded birds fly again and it never turned out a positive thing. So I was hoping I could change that experience for my Children. I use to work for a pet store and I we carried a list of animal rescue places, just in case someone needed it and I recall there being a place for injured wild animals. I admittedly googled the nearest wild bird rescue and it came up with one animal hospital. I gave them a call, since it was Saturday I was lucky they were open. I was also lucky because they weren’t far from my home.
They informed me that if a wounded bird is brought in they will examine the wounded bird. If this bird can be rescued they will nurse it back to health and place it with another group that introduces them back into the wild. If it’s in too much pain and no hope for recovery it will be humanely euthanized. (I didn’t like this idea, but the bird looked ok enough for rescue.) I loaded up the kids and we took the wounded bird into the animal hospital. They were excited to see the doctor take the bird in, because he was going to save it. The receptionist asked me to fill out a bit of info, but what was really great is they wanted to know the closest location the wild bird was found. This is so they can try and return it to it’s natural home. How awesome is that!
I think I made a positive experience for my children and the wounded bird.
I would be the perfect candidate for any sunburn commercial as for what NOT to do. Or maybe they could use me as a test dummy for their strongest products. It seems I can’t even leave my house on a half sunny day without 50 proof sunblock. Yesterday my family decided we wanted to dip our toes in the water. This was an unexpected trip so I didn’t have sunblock on me.
We were only at the lake maybe 15 minutes and I got a pretty bad sunburn. I always burn. Every year I burn really bad, and it seems no matter how much sunblock I put on I will always turn lobster red and or blister. I even get the strongest sunblock in the store and yet still turn red.
Here’s proof of my 15 minutes of fun in the sun:
Recently my husband and I decided to move our family into a large home with a fenced in yard near our job. This sounds like a wonderful thing but has been nothing but a nightmare. We have been here so far a total of 5 months and have had nothing but headaches since. Let me give you an idea of this wonderful home and why we decided to move into this place.
- The home is HUGE! I mean 3,000 square foot huge. With a house this large we have room for everyone and everything.
- This home has a fully fenced in yard, a plus for when you have kids.
- A fully converted garage, can you say “man cave”.
- Located just 3 miles from my work place.
- They allow pets, we didn’t have any but we were strongly considering getting a dog (this is a whole other story).
- Location, yeah I know 3 miles from my job, but it’s located behind a run down apartment complex. Also it’s less than a mile from a bad neighborhood
- This place is HUGE! (“wait this was a pro?”) Yeah I know but it’s a con also. This house will never stay clean and cleaning takes FOR EVER! My job is never done.
- The local school is crap.
So why is it such a nightmare, well. The back bathroom can’t have the toilet flushed and the washer running in the same day,(yes I said Day) without water all over my floor. The ceiling fan in my kids room started to come down and when we got it fixed the light blew out. The light socket actually blow out of the fan. After we replaced that the brand new light I placed in the closet went out. This light was a new energy light, you know the ones that last for 5 or more years.
Then the light fixture in the dining room went out and that had 4 new lights in it and they all went out.
This doesn’t even top the cake. What tops the cake is that when we moved in here there was no AC unit, but were told we would get one in spring. Have we got one working yet….NO!
Ok we have finally have a unit but when they went to turn this unit on it the electrical box, exploded and caught on fire. That will definitely need replaced.
I went to bed last night at 11pm to try and see if it would cool off enough at night to sleep. Well it was 87 degrees in my house when I went to bed. Needless to say I didn’t sleep well.
My landlord needs to get this fixed soon or I’m out!
We all have the same smile.
This is how I went to Dark coffee red to Bright Blonde.
I have bleached my hair a few times in the past and have always gotten a chicken yellow. This time I knew I couldn’t get a chicken yellow, because I don’t think my job would approve. I read up a bit online before I headed to the store. Later that day it was time to go to wal-mart, while there I thought I would check on a product I heard would work in one shot…No chicken yellow. I was going to get everything I needed from Sally’s but, I had my kids in tow so I really didn’t want to make two trips.
I ended up getting:
Clairol nice n easy born blonde maxi
The next morning I went to Sally’s and got more bleach and something called red and gold remover. I mixed that in with my bleach and the lady at sallys stated that I should only use it for 30 mins to keep from burning my hair too much.
After 30 mins I have this:
It’s a lighter blonde but I still have a lot of yellow in it. I should have left the bleach in longer or go to a professional. I think I may grab a blonde box color this weekend and dye over it, to tone it down.
What do you think?
I bleached my hair yesterday and then today I woke up with bright orange hair. I had to spend $20 more (spent $10 already) at Sallys just so I can try to fix it. Tune in tomorrow to see the results; along with before and after pictures. Also see how was able to fix it or not fix it. I guess we shall see.
